Keith’s Question Time!

There are two very frequently asked questions at the moment

  1. Will my sale complete by 30 June, closely followed by
  2. Will house prices in the Malmesbury area continue to rise?

With just over a week to go on the former question, solicitors and removal companies will obviously be in high demand.

On the latter, here are Keith’s thoughts:

“Cash-rich relocators from more expensive areas are contributing towards significant price growth across the South West. The latest data from Rightmove shows that asking prices in our region are up by 11.4% over the past 12 months and the South West now has the fewest properties available for sale per estate agent of any region in England. Buyers are re-evaluating their lifestyle options, and with the option of hybrid and remote working now a reality for many, there is continuing strong demand from buyers. Traditionally those areas closer to London on the M4 corridor commanded higher prices. Now however towns and villages like Malmesbury, which were once out of reach to five-day-a-week commuters, now present a realistic option. With demand particularly strong in the £500,000 – £1M price bracket, and very little coming on to the market, now is the time for vendors to capitalise on these favourable market conditions. Everything in the garden is looking good, and the start of the new school term in September always adds further pressure.”
